Google Maps Street View
Many are not aware of a cool feature available in Google Maps for many cities throughout the United States (and parts of the world). It is called a Street View where the Google team is driving the streets in a vehicle equipped with a 360 degree camera on the roof. This allows for a panoramic street view in many cities across the country.
Well this feature is now available for much of Jasper County, Missouri.
Just go to
http://maps.google.com

Type in an address or place (602 S Main ST,
Joplin, MO) or (Joplin, MO) You should see what they call “pegman”
along the left of the map. If he changes from gray to a yellow
color, there is a street map view of the area.

All you have to do is either click the “pegman”
icon or drag it onto the map. If you drag the icon onto the map you
will see some of the streets turn to a blue color. (I prefer
dragging the icon onto the map, otherwise it might take you to an
arbitrary location)

Drag the pegman icon onto the map.

If the streets turn blue, that means there is a
street map view available.

Place the pegman icon onto the part of the
street where you would like to see a street view. (You will see an
image to that below or attached)

Once you are in the street map view, you can
pan around (holding the left mouse button down) for a 360 degree
view.

Left-clicking once on the arrows will let you
drive up and down the street.

You can also use the small map in the lower
right to navigate the map or you can close the street view by
clicking the small “X” in the upper right to get back to the map
view.

You can also embed a Street View in a blog or web page for example
Just use your mouse (left-click) to pan aroundthe map. Click on the arrows in the street to virtually drive up and down.
